We find the words of Jesus in Matthew 22:34–40 to be quite remarkable:
But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Jesus summed up the entire demands of God in one simple statement—Love God. Love others. If we were to do that, it would truly be amazing! Yet how are sinful people, like me and you, supposed to love God and love others? Praise God he provided a way for us through faith in Jesus Christ!
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
(Romans 8:1, ESV)
We Praise God for his Holy Spirit that changes hearts, opens eyes and ears, and ignites faith in the hearts of his sons and daughters. Through His changing work we are enabled and empowered to begin to love God and love others even while we are still sinners. As we live out this new life in Jesus Christ, we have the opportunity to see people changed, cities changed, and God worshiped, praised, and glorified. The most practical outworking of loving God and loving others, and God’s plan “A” for changing the world is found in Matthew 28:18:
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christians should be baptized in the name of the triune God and regularly share in the Lord’s Supper to commemorate his death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the final establishment of his kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment of all people, the eternal damnation of the wicked and the eternal joy of the righteous in God’s presence.

There is an expectation in Scripture that there are no “lone-ranger” Christians. While Christians all belong to the people of God through their salvation and adoption as sons and daughters (sometimes called the ‘universal church’), God expects that we live that out in a community of believers where we live for encouragement, equipping, and accountability. Each group must be clear on their beliefs so we can rightly care for one another and know the expectations we have for each other. Our core beliefs are seen in our Partner Affirmation of Faith.
Additionally, our partners all joyfully covenant with one another and agree with our Partner Covenant. This covenant is available upon request. The Elders have also written their own affirmation of faith that is in line with our Partner Affirmation but is more robust and explicit in several areas. All elders of Main Street Church agree with and teach in accordance with our Main Street Church Elder Affirmation of Faith (available upon request).
Our History
For The Fame of the Name
2012–2018
On February 5, 2012, Bren Angelos, Josh Wheeler, and a team of believers launched a new church plant originally called Revolution22. They were enamored with God and his amazing and revolutionary call to simply “Love God and Love Others” in Matthew 22:34–40. The church began in the downtown location of Foothills School on River Street and continued to grow.
2019–2022
In 2018-2019 Revolution22 partnered with the Nelson Family to rent and renovate the historic Idaho Transportation Department building on Main Street in Boise. On July 14, 2019 the church moved into the space and began worshipping God on Main Street. The church continued to thrive through COVID19 and the other ups and downs of church life as God provided in every way necessary.
2023–Present
In 2023 our church went through many changes and the church hired Ryan Eagy to be our Lead Pastor. The partners decided it was time to update our name and we renamed ourselves to Main Street Church both as a nod to our location and to our desire to walk out the main goals of being a believer in simple and practical ways. We kept our original slogan but added a phrase: “Love God, Love Others, Make Disciples of Jesus,” with the goal to make explicit the natural outcome that loving God and loving others should—more disciples of Jesus Christ!
