God is close to us. He chooses a relationship with us. He is our friend.
Out Of Nothing | Genesis 1:1-25
We see two main things in Genesis 1. First, we are to be reminded to slow down and not make God’s word into a list but instead, see that it is all about our relationship with him. Second, we are to see that one of the first things God shows us about himself is how he creates out of nothing, and how that aspect of his nature means so much—not only for creation but also for all of us as we walk with God now in this in between moment.
Not Alone | Genesis 2:4-7, 18a)
According to Genesis 2, it isn’t good if we don’t have each other. God gives us himself to satisfy our deepest needs AND he designed us to need one another. In our relationship with one another we (and the world) begin to get a glimpse of the “oneness” that God experiences within the trinity as we have relationship with each other.
In Between Introduction
Our God is lovingly caring for his people—his beloved sons and daughters—not only through creation and re-creation, but also in the in between. Especially in the in between! It is here, in between the perfect work of God in creation and his perfect work in recreating us and the new heavens and new earth, that we see the depth of God’s love, grace, and mercy for us. Here, in this in between moment, God is lovingly meeting you and I and preparing us FOR that amazing future.

Priority: Discipleship
This week we are studying the priority of discipleship. As someone who has faith in salvation through Jesus Christ, you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, our God. This is your identity. And you are called to discipleship—living out the roles and qualities of being a disciple AND helping to create, grow, and encourage other disciples. These two ideas of being a disciple and living out your discipleship are meant to ground us and guide us through our entire life.
